About the Instructor:

Dr. Scott Richardson DAOM completed his Masters and Doctorate degrees from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. There he studied under Matt Callison and was an intern at his clinic and also an intern at USCD’s RIMAC student athlete center. He has lived in Colorado for the last 6 years were he has served as Vice President, President and Legislative Chair of the Acupuncture Association of Colorado (AAC). He was instrumental in getting Acupoint Injection Therapy (AIT) written in to the scope of practice for Colorado acupuncturists and continues to work with the state on scope of practice issues.

Intro to Acupoint Injection Therapy

This is an introductory course on Acupoint Injection Therapy (AIT) in TCM.  We will go over Clean Needle Technique (CNT) and sterile withdrawal procedures and discuss the substances allowed in Colorado. We will demonstrate and participants will practice Triggerpoint Injections, Acupoint Injections, and cosmetic facial injection for fine lines and wrinkles.

Orthopedic Trigger Point Injections

This is an advanced trigger point injection class that looks at common orthopedic disorders and how to treat them with Acupoint injection therapy. Participants must have completed an intro to injection class and be familiar with sterile withdrawal procedures.

Orthopedic Treatments Strategies: Lower Extremity

This class will refine an acupuncturist’s skills in diagnosing and treating common orthopedic conditions of the lower extremity. It will combine different modalities such as injections, needling, cupping, scraping, and taping in a simple and time effective treatment plan.

This class will refine an acupuncturist’s skills in diagnosing and treating common orthopedic conditions of the neck and back. It will combine different modalities such as injections, needling, cupping, scraping, and taping in a simple and time effective treatment plan.

Advanced Trigger Point & Prolotherapy

This course will teach advanced trigger point injection, perineural therapy, and prolotherapy techniques. Basic injection techniques are a pre-requisite for people wanting to attend this class. This is a 3 day course.

Prolotherapy 2 & Ozone

This is an advanced prolotherapy and Ozone course. It will cover more complex prolotherapy techniques and how to integrate Ozone therapy with prolotherapy. An introductory prolotherapy course is a pre-requisite to taking this class.
